Of the 62 that state a teaching medium, 21 teach Chinese in Putonghua, 14 teach Chinese in Cantonese, 7 are bilingual and 20 teach in English. An annual fee is published by 54 of the 143; fees run from HK$7,370 to HK$154,000, with a median of about HK$55,000. Of these, 31 schools have a through-train, feeder or nominated link with another school. Of the 143, 61 have a religious background. The oldest dates back to 1851; the newest opened in 2023.
