Curriculum & Approach
Based on the spirit of Christ's love for people, we use spiritual education to integrate the curriculum of Moral, Intellectual, Physical, Social, Aesthetic, and Emotional Education. We use Christian education as a teaching guide to build up students' positive values and outlook on life towards others and themselves, and to nurture children to become future pillars of society who love God and love others.
Using the “Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines 2017” as the curriculum planning guideline and the “Basic Early Childhood Bible Curriculum” published by the College of Pre-school Childhood Education of the National University of Hawaii as the blueprint, supplemented by the kindergarten teaching materials, the “child-centered” teaching content is set to match the children's life experience and to cultivate the whole-person development of the children. We will follow the “Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide” (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation.
Provide diversified “learning areas” for children to learn through play; set up a “language and reading room” to expose children to a large number of Chinese and English vocabularies and cultivate children's interest in writing and reading; language (English and Putonghua) teachers help children to master listening, speaking, reading and pinyin through school-based teaching materials designed in the mode of daily life; adopt the Ovation method of teaching music to develop the imaginative, abstract, spatial and We use music to develop imaginative, abstract, spatial and emotional intelligence, which is the foundation for learning musical instruments; we use Montessori manipulative teaching aids to enhance children's ability in mathematical and logical thinking; we design diversified display activities, and use drama and art to enhance children's interest in language learning, and to improve their ability to express themselves, communicate with others, and their creativity.
