Age eligibility

We provide day-time academic programs for students with severe intellectual disabilities aged 6 to 18 who reside in the Sham Shui Po district. If transportation arrangements permit, we also serve students living outside this area.

Results announced

The school will officially notify parents regarding matters related to their children’s enrollment, such as the class they will be assigned to, the class schedule, the arrangement of supplementary learning materials, and the school bus service, etc.

1. Admission 1.1 In the 2020/21 academic year, our school was approved by the Education Bureau to accept not only in-patient cases referred by the Child Development and Rehabilitation Department of Ming Ai Hospital but also cases referred at the district level by the Education Bureau. We provide day-school programs for students aged 6 to 18 with severe intellectual disabilities living in the Sham Shui Po District. If transportation arrangements permit, we are also able to serve students from outside this area. 1.2 Upon receiving a referral for a new student, our admission team will immediately conduct a pre-admission assessment (including communication with medical staff and home visits). 1.3 We will contact the parents to arrange a face-to-face meeting at the school, a school visit, and the signing of relevant admission documents. 1.4 Once the parents have signed the admission documents, we will determine the student’s start date. 1.5 We will officially inform the parents of details such as the student’s class, schedule, assistance equipment arrangements, and school bus services. 1.6 After the student officially starts school, the admission information will be submitted to the Second Group of Special Education Support of the Education Bureau. 2. Transfer 2.1 Upon receiving the transfer documents from the Social Welfare Department or nursing homes, our school social workers will notify the parents, our school team, and the Ming Ai Hospital team (for in-patient students), and officially initiate the process for the student to leave our school. 2.2 Our school team will prepare a report on the student and create a short video introducing the student’s learning or care needs for reference by the parents and the new transferring institution. 2.3 We will arrange for the parents and the student to visit the new transferring institution and have a meeting there. 2.4 We will confirm with the new transferring institution the date of the student’s departure from our school or the nursing home, as well as the arrangements for transporting the student’s belongings. The parents will then collect their child’s items and pay any remaining school fees, if necessary. 2.5 The information related to the student’s transfer will also be submitted to the Second Group of Special Education Support of the Education Bureau.
