Unified Allocation: Parents of children who have not been allocated places through the “self-assignment system” should go to the Unified Allocation Center on the designated date by the Education Bureau to complete the school selection procedures for their children. The Education Bureau will notify parents of the results of the unified allocation via mail or electronic means on the specified date. Parents of children who have been allocated places through the unified allocation system should bring the following documents to the assigned school on the designated date by the Education Bureau to complete the registration procedures: the Primary 1 registration certificate, the birth certificate of the child in Hong Kong (both original and copy) or the residence certificate (both original and copy), one recent photo of the child; if the parent is an employee of a Taikoo institution, please bring proof of employment; and two return envelopes (including postage stamps). For prospective Primary 1 students: Parents should collect the application form at the school on the designated date or download it from the school’s website. On the same day, parents should bring the following documents to the school to submit the application form: the completed “Application Form for Prospective Primary 1 Students”, the child’s kindergarten report card, any awards for extracurricular activities or competitions, the application form for self-assignment of places, and the form used for selecting schools through the unified allocation system. Prospective students who are accepted will be notified individually by phone. New Student Orientation Activities for Primary 1: “Parent Information Sessions for New Primary 1 Students”, “Summer Adaptation Classes for New Primary 1 Students”, and “Parent Meetings for New Primary 1 Students”. A summer adaptation class for new Primary 1 students is held at the end of August each year to help them get familiar with primary school life and undergo basic training before the start of the school term. A parent meeting for new Primary 1 students is also held at the end of August to enable parents to understand their children’s progress in class and the curriculum development, so as to assist them in helping their children adapt to school life.
