Required documents

• On the completed application form for primary one admission, in the section where you need to specify the name of the primary school you wish to apply to, please fill in “St. John’s Renli Primary School”.
• Application for a Hong Kong birth certificate for the child (if the child does not possess a Hong Kong birth certificate, the parent/guardian must provide the child’s birth certificate issued in another place and the identity document proving his/her right to reside in Hong Kong).
• Documents proving the residential address stated (such as a leased contract with stamps affixed, a food allowance receipt, a public housing lease agreement, or utility bills for water/electricity/coal/gas/residential telephone service)
• Parent/guardian's ID card, passport, or other identification documents
• If you have an older brother or sister studying at this school, please attach their birth certificate as well as the pages of their student record book that contain relevant information about their enrollment status.
• If the applicant's parent is a graduate of this school, please submit the graduation certificate. If the parent did not complete their studies on a full-time basis, a letter from the school must also be provided, along with either the report card for the second semester of the sixth grade or the placement certificate for further education.
• If the applicant is a graduate of our school, please attach the applicant’s birth certificate and graduation certificate. If the applicant did not complete their studies on a full-time basis, the parent must also submit a certificate from the previous school attended by the applicant.
• If it is stated that the applicant shares the same Christian or Catholic faith as our school, the parent/guardian must present a baptism certificate.

2. Points are awarded in accordance with the “Scoring Method Guidelines” set by the Education Bureau (including those who share the same religious beliefs or are members of the organizing organization).

Selection weightings

For applicants who have a sibling enrolled in our school, approximately 30% of the available first-grade places are reserved for them; in addition, no less than 20% of the first-grade places are allocated according to the “Scoring Criteria” set by the Education Bureau. The order in which applicants with the same score will be admitted will be determined and handled by the Central Office of the Education Bureau.
