Admission process for “self-allocated places”: **Mid-September**: Parents can obtain the “Application Form for Primary 1 Admission” at the kindergarten, kindergarten and childcare centre where their child attends, the District Civil Affairs Offices (Civil Affairs Consultation Centres), the Education Bureau’s Place Allocation Unit, or the Regional Education Services Offices. Parents must submit the application form by the designated date. Staff from the school administration will process the applications as instructed. Designated teachers will verify the accuracy of the information provided on the forms (e.g., details for siblings attending the same school) and then prepare a preliminary list of selected candidates based on the scoring criteria. All application forms will be sent to the Place Allocation Unit by the designated date. **Mid-November**: The school will announce the list of students who have been allocated places through this process and notify parents by mail. Parents of children who have been assigned places must go to the school on the designated date to complete the registration procedures. School administration staff will handle the registration and ask parents to fill out the admission application forms. After all students have completed their registration, designated teachers will verify the information and prepare the final list of students who have actually been allocated places, which will then be sent to the Place Allocation Unit. Admission process for “random allocation”: **June**: Parents must collect the “Primary 1 Registration Certificate” at the designated random allocation centre on the specified date. Parents of children who have been assigned places through this process must go to the school on the designated date to complete the registration procedures. School administration staff will handle the registration, ask parents to fill out the admission application forms, and collect the “Primary 1 Registration Certificate”. After all students have completed their registration, designated teachers will verify the information and prepare the final list of students who have been assigned places through this process, which will then be sent to the Place Allocation Unit. If any parent requests to retrieve their child’s “Primary 1 Registration Certificate”, they will be reminded that such a request will be considered as a waiver of the allocated place. School-based independent admission: If any student who has never participated in the primary one placement scheme applies before September 1st, parents should go to the Primary 1 Place Allocation Unit to handle the application. Starting from July 2nd, if a school fails to attract 32 students through the random allocation process, it may admit students independently. The applicant must be at least 5 years and 8 months old (as of August 31st). The admission procedure follows the same process as that for transferring students; new primary one students do not need to take an entrance examination.
