Debenture / nomination right

HK$3,000,000HKIS offers three types of debentures: Family Debenture: HK$3 million; Standard Corporate Debenture: HK$3 million; Comprehensive Corporate Debenture: HK$5 million. Debentures are not mandatory and do not guarantee admission. Holding a debenture places qualified applicants at the top of the wait pool. Debentures retain their value and cannot be sold. Only the Family Debenture is transferable, and only to the purchaser's children or grandchildren.

2026-27 Tuition and Fees: Reception 1 - Grade 2 Semester 1 Tuition $115,800, Semester 2 Tuition $115,800. Capital Levy $12,250 per semester (Total $24,500). Application Fee $2,000 (non-refundable/non-transferable). Entry Fee $15,000 (One-time fee for all new students). Other education related costs on top of tuition include school bus, lunch, uniforms, experiential learning programs, and a laptop. Late payment fee of 2% per month applies to all outstanding balances. Replacement of a student card $100. Student's cheque of tuition fee not honoured $150.

The grade for your child is determined by age for Lower and Upper Primary; or by grade completion for Middle and High School.

Families will be notified of the admissions decision by the Office of Enrollment Management starting in March and continuing on a rolling basis.

Acceptance deadline

For new students, a Reservation Deposit is required at the time of acceptance. A reservation deposit is equal to the student's initial semester fees (including tuition, capital levy, and entry fee). Enrollment becomes final only after the school has received the full Reservation Deposit.

Priority categories

Priority A - Debenture Holders; Priority B - Community-Connected Applicants (Children of HKIS Faculty, Overseas applicants currently studying outside Hong Kong and enrolled in accredited American curriculum schools, Siblings of currently enrolled HKIS students, Children of HKIS alumni, Students returning to HKIS, Overseas applicants currently enrolled in an international curriculum school outside HK and the Greater Bay Area); Priority C - Local and Regional Applicants

Interview

1 round(s) · Families who are invited will receive an email notification directing them to the HKIS Admissions Portal (via OpenApply) to schedule their assessment date and time.In-person (preferred) assessment of phonics, phonemic awareness, numeracy, behavior, developmental readiness, and expressive and receptive English Language skills.

Students must have valid proof of visa status/right of abode in Hong Kong prior to the start of school. A student may not enter HKIS unless he/she will be living with at least one parent who is in full-time residence in Hong Kong. HKIS requires all of its students to be covered by personal health insurance. Qualified applicants are placed in a wait pool according to our Admissions Priority System when there is no space available in the selected grade.
