Individual · 1 round(s) · mixedFor entry into the German International Stream (GIS), a meeting with our Head of Department is mandatory. For EIS Y12, candidates will be interviewed. Candidates for KG1 & Y01 are assessed individually but within a group of children.

Selection criteria

  1. Ability to understand in either German or English
  2. Fluency in English equal to that of a native speaker of the same age (for EIS)
  3. Passing all areas of relevant entrance assessments
  4. Completion of confidential recommendation form
  5. Fluent English at native speaker level for EIS
  6. Passing all areas of the entrance assessment
  7. Possession of a German, Swiss, or Austrian passport
  8. Possession of infrastructure debenture
  9. Sibling currently attending GSIS
  10. Child of GSIS staff
  11. Child of GSIS alumni
  12. Possession of an existing unused debenture
  13. Date of receipt of new application

Applications are accepted year-round. Waitlists can change. For EIS, assessment invitations are sent based on admissions priority; no guarantee of assessment. If not offered assessment due to waitlists, application can be deferred to next available year group at no additional cost. For GIS, meeting with Head of Department is mandatory. For Y12, interview required. All assessment papers are confidential. No examples of test papers available. When a vacancy arises, next applicant in line is contacted. Students must have valid HK ID or visa with authorized residency status. For Pok Fu Lam Campus, school bus is mandatory. For The Peak Campus, school bus is optional. Changing curriculum after admission is not supported. Declining an offer archives the application; reapplication required for future years.
