Curriculum & Approach
Based on the educational mission our kindergarten is committed to providing comprehensive and excellent education based on the love of Christ. Our goal is to equip children with balanced development and a holistic education, enabling them to become well-rounded individuals.
According to the ''Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide (2017)'' developed by the Education Bureau, with the core value of ''child-centeredness,'' it believes that each child is unique. In curriculum planning and implementation, the guide considers the diversity of children and develops a spiral curriculum that progresses from shallow to deep to cater to the holistic development of children. Our school emphasizes the development of ''language'' and ''Moral'' in children. We adopt a ''whole language approach'' in Cantonese and English, which strengthens children's abilities in listening, speaking, and reading, allowing them to learn language systematically. We also use life-oriented ''moral stories'' to design integrated learning activities that enhance children's exploration of their sensory and cultivate their potential. We will follow the “Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide” (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation.
Through diverse exploratory and experiential activities, we aim to promote the principles of ''Learning by doing'' and ''Learning through play'' for children. We facilitate this through outdoor visits, thematic learning, group activities, and project approach. These activities provide a comprehensive and life-oriented learning experience that aligns with children's creativity. We create an inspiring learning environment that encourages exploration, play, and hands-on experiences. Both teachers and students actively participate in fostering a friendly, respectful, inclusive, appreciative, and harmonious learning atmosphere. This cultivates a solid foundation for the holistic development of children.
