2026/27 entry- Intake quota
- Self-allocated places are divided into two categories: (a) Places provided for children whose siblings are enrolled in the same primary school or whose parents work at that school (accounting for approximately 30% of the total number of first-grade places available); (b) Places allocated according to the “scoring criteria” (accounting for no less than 20% of the total number of first-grade places).
- Age eligibility
- At the time of enrollment in September 2026, the child must be at least 5 years and 8 months old (that is, born on or before December 31, 2020).
- Results announced
- On November 24, 2025, the school announced the results of the “self-allocated places” system. Parents were able to check these results starting at 10 a.m. on that day through the “Primary One Admission Electronic Platform”. The final allocation results would be delivered to parents by mail on June 3–4, 2026. Parents could also choose to receive the results via the “Primary One Admission Electronic Platform” or via SMS.
- Acceptance deadline
- The names of the children who have been admitted will be posted at the respective schools. Parents are required to go to the admitted schools on the designated dates to complete the registration procedures for their children. If parents fail to complete the registration within the specified time limit, it will be considered as a waiver of their right to have their children assigned a school place automatically.

- My elder brother/sister attends the middle school branch located at the same site as that primary school.
- The father/mother is a member of the school board of this primary school.
- The father/mother or elder brother/sister is a graduate of that primary school.
- The first-born child (that is, the oldest among all the family’s children)
- Sharing the same religious beliefs as the school's governing organization
- The parent is a member of the organization that runs this primary school.
- Children of appropriate age (that is, those who will be at least 5 years and 8 months to 7 years old by the start of the school year in September of the following year)
Selection weightings
1. The parent works full-time at the kindergarten or middle school branch located on the same premises as the primary school (20 points). 2. A sibling is enrolled in the middle school branch located on the same premises as the primary school (20 points). 3. The parent is a member of the school’s board of directors (20 points). 4. The parent or a sibling is a graduate of the primary school (10 points). 5. The eldest child in the family (i.e., the oldest among all children) (5 points). (Only one of these options can be selected.) 6. The family shares the same religious belief as the school’s governing organization (5 points). 7. The parent is a member of the organization that operates the primary school (5 points). (Only one of these two options can be selected.) 8. The child is of the appropriate age range (i.e., aged 5 years and 8 months to 7 years old by the start of the next school year) (10 points).
The allocation of places through these self-allocated mechanisms is divided into two categories: (a) Places provided for children whose siblings are enrolled in the same primary school or whose parents work at that school (all applications in this category will be accepted); (b) Places allocated according to the “scoring criteria.” If a school is unable to establish a government-funded first-grade class during the 2026–2027 academic year, the Education Bureau will arrange alternative first-grade places for the students who were already admitted through the self-allocated mechanism.
