AISHK welcomes applications for Reception to Year 10 all year-round. – Year 11 applications are generally not accepted after Term 1 and Year 12 applications are generally not accepted under normal circumstances.AISHK accepts applications two years in advance of the anticipated year of entrance.

Assessment Fee - Students attending assessments are required to pay assessment fee of HK$500 per student. The need for an assessment will be determined after the application has been reviewed by the school. There may be a requirement for Secondary students, whose native language is not English, to attend a standardised English assessment. Please contact the Admissions Team for further information. Application Renewal Fee - An application renewal fee of HK$500 will be charged to ensure the applicant remains on the wait list for a further year. All fees are non-refundable. *Tuition fees include all textbooks, workbooks, local excursions, special art materials, literary magazines and a Yearbook. 1) Tuition fees are based on a per annum charge and, the preferred means of payment is by ten (10) equal monthly payments via Autopay (February to November inclusive). Please complete an Autopay form available from the Admissions Office or Finance Office and return it six (6) weeks before commencement. (It will usually take six (6) weeks to set up). No receipts will be issued for Autopay payments. 2) A 10% discount will be applied to the third and subsequent child/ren in a family enrolled at AISHK. (The discount will be applied to the youngest child/ren in the family). 3) No reduction in tuition fees will be made for any absences. 4) If fee payments are overdue, a student may be excluded from school. Once excluded, students will not be re-admitted until all arrears are cleared. Reservation Deposit - A reservation deposit of HK$35,000 (subject to EDB approval) is required at the time of acceptance of an enrolment. This deposit is refunded to families when they leave the school. Enrolment becomes final only after the school has received the reservation deposit and the signed Enrolment Acceptance Letter. The capital levy amount is reviewed every five years and is currently HK25,000 per student per annum, subject to the EDB's approval. The capital levy is payable annually at the beginning of each school year. The capital levy is a non-redeemable, non-refundable and non-transferable fee for service. The capital levy is charged by The Australian International School Foundation Limited (AISFL) and does not relate to any debt owed by AISFL to any person. The capital levy does not confer any priority admission or other rights upon any person, and the capital levy is not an asset or other property of any person.

Age eligibility

From Year 11 students have the option to study either the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. Our students consistently achieve exceptional results across both pathways.

The Admissions Team will notify parents via email regarding the result of the application review and therefore the status of the application, this may include offer of place, waitlist placement or request for an assessment interview.

Priority application is provided to siblings of current students, and Australian or New Zealand passport holders.

Interview

Year 1-11 applicants will be interviewed and will also complete a written admissions assessment based on the Australian curriculum. Students applying to the school from the Australian curriculum (coming from schools in Australia) are generally not required to complete an admissions assessment.

Admissions waitlists are accorded by date. The earlier the application, the higher the place on our waitlist. For our intake years (Reception and Preparatory) we also take into account gender equity as it is important to have a balance in each class. As part of the application process, your child may be asked to complete an AEAS (Australian Education Assessment Services) test if English is not their first language. The AEAS test is a standardised English test that our school has adopted. Please contact our Admissions department for more information on the AEAS test or with any admissions questions. AISHK accepts applications of any passport nationality.
